Allen, Etienne Claim All-MVC Honors

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – The Missouri State track and field team takes down three top-eight placings during a very warm first day of the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship, at the Gibson Track & Field Complex.
 
Jessica Allen paces a second place 10,000-meter run with a 36:14.14 time. Allen's 10K mark was good enough for a new personal best and All-Conference honors. The senior took 18 and a half seconds off her previous best and broke the facility record.
 
Freshman Rochelle Etienne takes home second place in the javelin throw with a 42.63-meter toss. Etienne earns All-MVC honors and earned eight team points.
 
Georgia Richardson cleared the 3.54m pole vault bar to take fifth place and score four points for the Bears.
 
Chelsey Linton and Olivia Ott represent the Bears in the heptathlon. Linton sits in second place with 3,084 points with personal bests in the high jump (1.55m), 200-meter dash (25.62) and the 100-meter hurdles (14.46). Ott marked personal records in the 100-meter hurdles (14.44), 200-meter dash (25.66) and the shot put (10.37m), claiming 2,976 points in sixth place.
 
Asha Cave and Erica Wollmering qualify for the finals on Sunday. In the 200-meter dash, Cave recorded a 23.73 time to finish first in her heat. Wollmering qualifies ninth in the 1,500-meter with a time of 4:48.30.
 
Missouri State is tied for fourth place with 20 team points after day one. MSU will start the second day of the MVC Championship with the final three events of the heptathlon at 9:30 a.m. CT on Saturday.
