Keeping Track of the Bears
- Heading into the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, Missouri State holds 19 top-eight marks in the league, in 13 events.
- A total of 27 student-athletes are projected to compete in 20 events. MSU will be competing in the heptathlon for the first time this season.Â
- Sidne' Williamson was honored with MVC Field Athlete of the Week honors (May 1) for her performance at the Memphis Tiger Invite. Williamson set a new personal best long jump record, by marking a 6.18-meter (20' 3.5") leap. Her attempt was good enough for the event title, the top mark in the MVC and tied for 24th on the West Region qualifying list.
- Asha Cave holds the top 200-meter mark in the conference with a 23.63 time, recorded at the Tom Botts Invitational (April 20-21).
- Recording a 5,000-meter personal best, Jessica Allen logged fifth place finish at the Drake Relays (April 26-28). Allen's 16:38.55 race was good enough for a program top-five time and third best in the league.
- MSU was picked by league coaches to finish fifth at the outdoor championship, the MVC announced Friday, May 4.
- Last season at the MVC Championship Missouri State took fifth place. Allen took home the Elite 18 award for her third place finish in the 10,000-meter.
- Director of track and field and cross country, Ronald Boyce, is in his 22nd season at the helm at Missouri State. During his tenure at MSU, the outdoor program has seen nine Valley championships.
