Box Score BLOOMINGTON, Ill. –  The Missouri State women's tennis team fell in a tough 4-3 Missouri Valley Conference match to Illinois State on Sunday at the Bloomington Tennis Center.  

"Tough match today, but great fight in singles," head coach Mallory Weber said. "Illinois State is a tough team and we had our chances at the end. Looking forward to a strong week at practice to get ready for Valparaiso at home."

After dropping the doubles point to Illinois State (11-8, 2-0 MVC), Missouri State (6-8, 1-1 MVC) senior Anelisse Torrico Moreno worked fast to even the score. Torrico Morreno defeated ISU's Jelena Karla Vujicic, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.

The Bears also collected wins at the No. 4 and No. 5 singles contests against the Redbirds.

Junior Fati Khamissi picked up a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Valerja Gercar in No. 4 singles, while freshman Ellie Burger defeated Estelle Vanthier 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.

Missouri State returns to Cooper Tennis Complex to host new league member Valparaiso on Saturday, April 14 with first serve set for 1 p.m.
