Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SPRINGFIELD, Mo. –  The Missouri State women's tennis team sent their seniors off with a win to close the regular season on Sunday with a 7-0 sweep of William Woods, after falling earlier in the day in a tough 5-2 battle to Drake at Cooper Tennis Complex.

The Bears, now 9-9 on the season and 3-2 against Missouri Valley Conference opponents, came into today's match against Drake (15-5, 5-0) in the hunt for a share of the league title.

MSU picked up the first win in the No. 2 doubles match as Phoebe Boeschen and Anelisse Torrico Moreno defeated Summer Brills and Megan Webb, 6-2. Drake overpowered the Bears to capture the point with wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches.

Drake jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Alye Darter collected a three-set win at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, over Brills. Fati Khamissi outlasted Kenya Williams to pick up the Bears' other point at No. 4 singles, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Khamissi improved to 12-4 in the spring and 5-0 against MVC opponents for the Bears.

After a short break, the Bears were back on the court to face William Woods (13-6), quickly picking up the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 matches.

MSU dug deep for an energy boost as all of the Bears defeated their Owls opponents in straight sets. ­­

Missouri State will find out soon who they will face on the first day of the Missouri Valley Conference Team Tennis Championships. The Championship will start on Friday, April 27 and run through Sunday, April 29 at Cooper Tennis Complex. Admission is free for fans.
