Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mo. –  The Missouri State women's tennis team collected their second Missouri Valley Conference victory of the season on Saturday with a 5-2 decision over Valparaiso at Cooper Tennis Complex.

"We had great fight today," head coach Mallory Weber said. "It was another very strong effort in singles from the team and we are in a great place heading into the final weekend."

Missouri State (7-8, 2-1 MVC) was able to battle back in singles after dropping the doubles point to Valparaiso (5-12, 0-3 MVC).

Sophomore Alye Darter collected the Bears first singles victory with a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Claire Czerwonka in the No. 1 contest. Fati Khamissi's 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles gave the Bears the lead.

Ellie Burger collected a 6-2, 6-4 win over Randi Wind at the No. 5 match, while Phoebe Boeschen picked up a 6-2, 6-3 decision at No. 3 singles over Meg Modesto to give the Bears a 4-1 advantage.

Senior Abbey Belote wrapped up the match with a 6-4, 7-6 (3) victory at No. 6 singles over Jordan Kopfer.

Missouri State returns to Cooper Tennis Complex to host UNI on Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m. The Bears will also take on Drake at 10 a.m. and William Woods at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 on Senior Day.
