ST. LOUIS -- Missouri State sophomore
Jordyn Capra was honored as the Missouri Valley Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week, Tuesday afternoon.
Capra opened up the outdoor season this weekend by running an 11:19.48 3,000-meter steeple chase to finish third at the Bulldog Relays. The Carl Junction, Mo., native holds the fastest steeple chase time in the conference, 24
th on the west qualifying list and 44
th in the nation.
Capra also holds the fourth fastest 5,000-meter time (17:50.95) in the conference and 40
th in the west region. Her 5K time was good enough for sixth place and a new personal best.Â
Missouri State will continue the outdoor season when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., for the ORU Invitational on March 31.
