STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Missouri State track and field team took the first step in the 2018 outdoor season at the Bulldog Relays, producing five top five placings, here of Friday.

Freshman
Jamilah James marked a second place finish in the triple jump. In her first outdoor meet as a Bear, James recorded a leap of 12.25–meters.

Jessica Allen earns second place overall in the 1,500-meter run after posting a 4:43.49 time. Joining Allen in the top 10 of the event are
Danielle Bohannon (4:54.01) and
Madeline Saville (4:55.69).

The Bears competed in three relays during day one, taking home two titles. In the 400-meter shuttle hurdles relay,
Chicago Bains,
Chelsey Linton,
Olivia Ott and
Isa Videler earned MSU a 1:01.63 time to take the victory.

Asha Cave,
Divina Henry,
Taryn Smiley and
Marissa Kurtimah finished the 4x200-meter relay in 1:37.06 to capture the top spot.

In the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay James,
Sidne' Williamson, Smiley and Videler took third place with a 4:07.89 time.

Jordyn Capra recorded a personal best, 17:50.95 in the 5,000-meter run earning sixth place. Concluding in seventh place,
Grace Breiten paced out a 17:56.27 finish.
Missouri State will continue with day two of the Bulldog Relays at 11 a.m. tomorrow with the discus throw.
