Box Score QUINCY, Ill. – The Missouri State women's tennis team collected a 7-0 victory over Quincy on Friday afternoon, moving to 4-3 on the season.
The Bears swept the doubles point, led by junior
Phoebe Boeschen and senior
Anelisse Torrico Moreno with a 6-1 victory at the No. 2 doubles match over Quincy's Abby Moore and Anna Konczak. Boeschen and Torrico Moreno improve to 5-2 in the spring as a doubles pair for MSU.
Sophomore
Alye Darter and freshman
Ellie Burger collected their 10 doubles victory of the year and fourth of the spring at No. 1 doubles with a 6-2 win over Quincy's Sydney Lynch and Rebecca McIsaac.
Missouri State continued to press Quincy in singles action. Junior
Fati Khamissi collected the Bears' first singles victory of the match with a 6-1, 6-0, win over Moore. Darter and Torrico Moreno quickly followed with 6-1, 6-1 wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles contests, respectively.
Boeschen tallied her fifth singles win of the spring with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Rita Kanaeva. Senior
Abbey Belote won 8-0 at the No. 5 singles match as Meyer defeated QU's Peterson, 8-2, at No. 6 match.
Missouri State returns to action on Saturday (March 3) at 12 p.m., against Western Illinois, in Macomb, Ill.
