Track & Field Bears See New Personal Bests at Gorilla Classic

Day One Results
PITTSBURG, Kan. –The Missouri State track and field team recorded strong performances on the first day of the 3rd Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic here on Friday.

Chelsey Linton earned a new personal best in the long jump, with a 5.46-meter leap. Besting her previous length by almost a meter. Linton also finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (9.03), qualifying for tomorrow's final and setting a new personal record. 
 
Brittany McPike tossed a 17.51-meter weight throw to earn third place. McPike's mark came on her third attempt of the day.

On the track, Asha Cave earned a new PR in the 200-meter dash with a 24.46 second time. Cave finished in fourth place by less than half a second.
 
Also qualifying for tomorrow's finals are Isa Videler in the 60-meter hurdles, along with Divina Henery, Timeka Jordan and Amalie Gunn in the 60-meter dash.
 
Missouri State will start the second day of the Gorilla Classic with the 3,000m run at 11:25 a.m. on Saturday.
