MVC Release
ST. LOUIS – Sophomore
Grace Breiten represents the Missouri State women's cross country squad on the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference scholar-athlete team, announced by the league office Tuesday.
Breiten paced the Bears in every meet this season and holds a 3.63 grade point average in Special Education.
The Chesterfield, Mo. native finished in fifth place overall at the MVC Championship last weekend, claiming All-Missouri Valley Conference honors after running a 17:21.67 5K. She also earned a new personal best and the sixth fastest 5K in program history.Â
Scholar-Athlete honors require athletes to meet performance standards, as they must finish among the first 20 runners at the conference championship and hold at least a cumulative 3.2 GPA and be a sophomore in athletic and academic standing to earn a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete team.
The Bears will turn their attention to the NCAA Midwest Regional meet to be held Nov. 9 back in Peoria, Ill.
