Men's Golf Finishes Middle of The Pack

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. --- The Missouri State men's golf team wrapped up their Fall season at the Little Rock/First Tee Classic. Holding steady in ninth place, the Bears shot 299-293-298--890 to stay two strokes ahead of Miami University (OH).

The Bears were led by Brad Carpenter through all three rounds and tied for sixth in the individual standings. The senior fired 70-74-72--216 with an eagle in the first round and coming in even in round three. Carpenter was the only Bear to break into the top 10 after shooting 216 for the third time this season.

Seniors Jack Knoeel and Kory Franks each shot 227 tying for 46th. Knoesel carded 75-70-82 while Franks had 75-78-74. One stroke behind them, Adam Fisher had 79-75-74--228 to tie for 56th. Completing the Bears' lineup, Lukas McCalla had 85-74-78--237 for 83rd.

Arkansas State took home the team title shooting one-under par 863 to beat UNLV (864) by one stroke. Illinois State finished third after carding 865 with host Little Rock coming in a distant fourth with 880. ULM and Seattle University tied for fifth with 884, Arizona (886) finished seventh,  Lamar University carded 889 for eighth, followed by the Bears (890), and Miami University (OH) (892) rounding out the top 10.  

The men's golf team will return to action in late February for the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz.
