SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State men's soccer team stays undefeated (6-0-3) after a 1-0 shutout of Western Illinois, Tuesday night at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium.

Just six minutes into the match
Nicolo Mulatero recorded his first goal in a Bears uniform, off a corner kick by MSU. The corner was served by
Jake Buckle, headed by
Ben Stroud before finding Mulatero for what would become the deciding score.

Although the Bears only found the back of the net once, the squad was very active offensively. Matching their season high shot attempt record with 18, ten Bears got off shots led by Buckle with three.

On the defensive side of the ball the Bears held up their third shutout of the season and second in two games. MSU held WIU to just two shot attempts, a Bears opponent season low.

The Bears stay at home for conference action against Bradley, Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m., before hitting the road to take on Tulsa next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
