Missouri State heads to Iowa for a pair of critical road games this weekend, beginning with a 7 p.m. Friday contest at UNI.
The Lady Bears (11-9, 7-2) made it through the first half of the Missouri Valley Conference schedule with just two losses, and are tied with Southern Illinois for second place, one game ahead of UNI (10-10, 6-3) and two back of Drake (14-7, 9-0), who MSU plays at 2 p.m. Sunday. SIU visits both Iowa schools this weekend as well.
Despite last week's loss at SIU, the Lady Bears are still 21-6 in their last 27 Valley road contests, and have played in two instant classics the last two trips to Cedar Falls, a 78-75 overtime win in 2016 and 65-64 loss in 2017.

Series Histories
Missouri State owns a 50-27 lead in the series with UNI, though the Panthers are 8-5 in the last 13 meetings. Each team has 18 wins apiece in Cedar Falls.
Drake took a 42-41 series lead with a win in Springfield earlier this season, and is 24-12 against MSU in Des Moines. The Lady Bears have averaged 78.2 points in their last 20 games against Drake.

Scouting UNI
UNI is 10-10 overall and 6-3 in MVC games after playing one of the nation's most difficult non-conference schedules, picking up wins against Iowa State and Kansas State of the Big 12. Kennedy Kirkpatrick leads the Panthers in scoring at 10.7 points per contest, and Megan Maahs nearly averages a double-double with 9.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. UNI averages 61.7 points per game and allows 58.9 with shooting percentages of .375 overall, .302 on 3-pointers and .689 from the charity stripe.

Scouting Drake
Drake is 14-7 overall and 9-0 in MVC play as the preseason league favorite. Sara Rhine (15.6) and Becca Hittner (15.4) form a powerful 1-2 offensive punch for the Bulldogs, who lead the nation with 22.6 assists per game. The Bulldogs score 82.4 points per game and allow 71.1 while shooting 47.2 percent overall, 34.3 percent on 3-pointers and 74.9 percent at the foul line.

First Meeting with UNI
Missouri State forced 22 turnovers in a 62-52 victory against UNI on Jan. 7 in Springfield. The Lady Bears limited the Panthers to 15 points in the first half, but UNI fought back to a 29-28 deficit midway through the third quarter. MSU countered with a 9-0 run and led by five-plus points the rest of the way. Aubrey Buckley scored 13 points to lead four players in double figures.

First Meeting with Drake
Drake took the season's first meeting by an 80-68 final on Jan. 5 in Springfield. The Bulldogs built a 20-point lead early in the second half, and owned a plus-22 rebounding margin for the game. Four Lady Bears scored in double figures, led by Alexa Willard's 17 points, and MSU owned a .444-.435 lead in field goal percentage, but the rebounding deficit was too much to overcome.
