SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State women's tennis team opens the 2018 dual match season on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m., when the squad hosts SIUE at Cooper Tennis Complex.
Missouri State was predicted to finish fifth in the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference, according to league coaches. MSU returns seven members from the 2017 squad that entered the postseason tournament as the seventh seed.
The Bears are looking to build off of their strong fall season play and continue to push each other. Junior
Phoebe Boeschen was the third Bear in as many years to reach the title match in the MVC Individual Championship at No. 3 singles.

Ellie Burger finished the fall season with a 6-4 record, sweeping three strong matches at the UCA Fall Classic and fell just short in upsetting the No. 9 seed at the ITA Regional.
SIUE's squad will head to town with one match under their belts, hosting IUPUI on Fri., Jan. 26. The Cougars and the Bears both had student-athletes compete in the fall ITA Regional hosted in Lawrence, Kan., but none went head-to-head.
