MSU Soccer Wins Third Straight after Shutout of UMKC

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Missouri State men's soccer team picked up its third straight win of the season here Tuesday with a 1-0 win over UMKC.
 
The Bears improved to 4-2-1 on the year after recording their second straight shutout.
 
Junior forward Conor Ingram once again came up big for the Bears. Ingram netted the game winning goal at the 70:09 mark, off of a shot deflection. The score marked the fourth straight game in which Ingram has recorded a goal.
 
Defense set the tone early for the Bears, allowing eight UMKC shots on the night and just two on goal. Bears' senior goalkeeper Liam Priestley snagged his second save of the match with five minutes left, keeping the Roos scoreless and preserving the MSU win.
 
It marked Priestley's fourth shutout of the season and 18th in his carrier
 
Ingram and Josh Dolling paced the Bears offensively by getting off two shots apiece. The Bears logged six shots on the night with four on goal.
 
The Bears will be back in action on Saturday, Sept 23 for the home Missouri Valley Conference opener against Evansville at 6 p.m.
