The five-kilometer race will take place on the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Mo. The Division I women's race starts at 8:30 a.m.

Missouri State opened up the season strong at the J.K. Gold Classic on Sept. 2. The Bears were led by Senior Jessica Allen who ran a personal best 14:04.8 4K to finish third overall and first among collegiate runners. MSU finished the meet in fourth overall with 83 points.

The Bears will send 16 runners to Joplin, including Allen, Jasmine Crawford, Erica Wollmering and Paityn Howart, who all finished in the top-30 two weeks ago. Other Division I programs in attendance for Saturday's race include Arkansas, Oral Roberts, Tulsa and Wichita State.

The Bears have four regular-season meets this season before hoisting the MVC Cross Country Championship on Oct. 28. After the meet in Joplin, MSU will next travel to the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. on Sept. 30.
