LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Held scoreless through 90 minutes, the Missouri State women's soccer team fell, 2-0, to the Little Rock Trojans Sunday afternoon at the Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex.

Leading the charge for the Bears in the ninth minute, newcomer
Emma Skornia fired off the first shot of the match – and first of her collegiate career – but was blocked. Promptly after, the Bears lined up for three corner kicks but were unable to capitalize off the plays. After 45 minutes of scoreless action, both teams entered halftime with an equal five shots and one save.

Two minutes after returning to the pitch, Little Rock broke the scoreless deadlock with a shot that made its way into the lower left corner of the net. MSU goalkeeper
Kaitlin Maxwell brought in two saves immediately after the goal and sophomore defender
Lauren Fisher registered a slick defensive save in the 50
th minute to give the Bears a solid defensive stop.

The Trojans put the game out of reach in the 67
th minute as Little Rock's Liesa Seifert snuck a 20-yard, free kick into the lower left corner of the goal, giving UALR its final 2-0 advantage. Led by senior
Rachel Catrell, MSU launched four shots in hopes of a comeback, but was unable to overcome the two-goal deficit. The Bears were out-shot 15-11 in the match, falling to 1-3-0 overall on the season.
