Knoesel back on top for Bears
The Tiger Invitational proved unpredictable for the Missouri State men's golf team as they finished in 7th place. Round three saw the rise of sophomores
Adam Fisher and
Jack Knoesel back into their usual top spots on the team. Fisher shot one-over par in his final round after struggling with round two for a total of 75-78-73--226. Knoesel came back with a vengeance in rounds two and three after posting an 80-point round to start the day on Monday. Knoesel's comeback moved him up 19 spots in the leaderboard and into a tie for 21st with scores of 80-73-72--225.
Brad Carpenter hit 74-75-78--227 to tie for 31st.
Kory Franks shot 73-77-79--229 and freshman
Christopher Obert finished with 85-76-76--237.
In the team standings, the top five going into round three remained the same with host Missouri holding onto the lead with 295-283-279--857. Rounding out the top ten were Northern Illinois (875), Austin Peay (890), SIUE (893), Little Rock (898), Northern Iowa (899), Missouri State (902), UMKC (906), Illinois State (906), IUPUI (907).
The Bears are back in action on April 24-25 for the MVC Championships hosted by Loyola in Lemont, Illinois.
