USTFCCCA Release
NEW ORLEANS – Missouri State was one of 242 women's cross country teams to earn All-Academic Team status by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the association announced Thursday (Feb. 9). This is the second-consecutive year that the Bears have earned this distinction.
MSU combined for a 3.64 cumulative grade point average during the 2016 season. Four student-athletes carried an impressive 3.95 GPA or higher in the classroom –
Jessica Allen (Biology),
Jordyn Capra (Animal Science),
Alyson Jones (Public Relations) and
Madeline Saville (Elementary Education).
Every member of the cross country squad is also a member of the Missouri State Athletic Director's Honor Roll, where a student-athlete must carry a 3.0 GPA or higher.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
