VALPARAISO, Ind. - The Missouri State men's soccer team (9-3-1, 5-1 MVC) completed the season sweep over Valparaiso here Tuesday evening, returning to its winning ways with a 2-0 win over the Crusaders.

The Bears came out hot offensively in the first half, recording six shots with three aimed at goal. MSU recorded 11 shots in the match led by freshman Josh Dolling's five strikes.

Dolling opened up the scoring for Bears in the 39th minute off an assist from Stuart Wilkin, for his third goal of the season. The pass came from the corner and Dolling netted it in from 10 yards out.

Two minutes into the second half, sophomore Kyle Hiebert marked his first goal of his career, heading the ball in from nine yards out, off a serve from Wilkin.

The Bears' defense made a statement during the 90-minute battle, holding the Crusaders to just one shot, the fewest by any MSU opponent this season.

MSU senior Liam Priestley held up his ninth shutout of the season – and 23rd of his career. He now ranks second in Missouri State history in career shutouts.

The Bears return home Saturday at 7 p.m. for a Senior Day showdown against Loyola at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium. Jon Leamy's first-place squad then wraps up the regular season on Nov. 4 at Drake.
