The Missouri State men's golf team is seventh of 11 teams after 36 holes at the ORU Shootout here after posting a 617 team total Monday (Apr. 11). The Bears tallied rounds of 312-305 on the first day of action at the par 72, 7018-yard Forest Ridge Golf Club.
Arkansas State holds down the top spot after shooting 294-289--583, just ahead of Central Arkansas, which posted 301-285--586. Utah Valley (597), North Dakota State (604) and Illinois State (610) round out the top five.
Freshman Adam Fisher paced MSU the first day, carding 76-74--150, good for a 16th-place tie. Freshman Kory Franks was next for the Bears, tied for 36th with 79-75--154. Seniors Mitch Mather, Joey Johnson and Brik Brauburger were third thru fifth on the team, respectively. Mather is tied for 46th after shooting 78-78--156, while Johnson shot 79-79--158 and is tied for 54th. Brauburger posted 82-78--160 and is tied for 64th.
Tuesday's final round is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
