SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Season tickets for Missouri State's 23-game 2017 home baseball schedule are now available through the MSU Athletics Box Office. As part of all Bears' season-ticket packages, individuals who place their orders prior to Feb. 6 will receive complementary tickets to MSU's annual First Pitch Night, which will be held Feb. 11 at the Bill Rowe Training Facility at Hammons Field.
The Bears, who finished with a 38-21 season record last spring, will welcome back 15 letterwinners, including six position starters and the bulk of a deep 2016 pitching staff. Junior third baseman
Jake Burger returns after earning All-America honors in each of his first two seasons as a Bear, as does senior closer
Bryan Young and three-year regulars
Blake Graham and
Aaron Meyer.
Highlighting the home portion of the schedule will be three-game non-conference series against Central Arkansas (March 3-5) and Memphis (March 17-19), as well as midweek games regional rivals Oral Roberts (March 28), Kansas (April 4), Arkansas (April 11) and Missouri (April 25). The Bears will host four Missouri Valley Conference weekend series, beginning with a three-game league-opening set against Bradley (March 31-April 2) and continuing with match-ups against Dallas Baptist (April 7-9), Wichita State (April 21-23) and Indiana State (May 12-14).
Additionally, the MVC Baseball Championship returns to Springfield for the first time in five years and the fourth time overall this season. The Valley's postseason tournament will be held May 24-27, at Hammons Field, with the champion earning the league's automatic NCAA Tournament bid.Â
Renewal information for current season-ticket holders will be mailed this week and include packages for lower-level reserved chairback seats for $100 (general public), $50 for Missouri State faculty and staff and $20 for students. Eight-game mini-packages will also be offered for $32 per ticket. Additionally, MSU is offering free season-long admission for up to two children (ages 12 and under) with the purchase of two 2017 season tickets.
MVC Championship all-session packages begin at $45 for Bears season ticket-holders and are also available now through the MSU Athletics Box Office. General public (including faculty/staff non-season ticket holders) all-tournament packages are available for $55, while student tournament passes are on sale for $20. Single-game prices for the tournament are $12 for adults and $5 for students and children between the ages of 2 and 12. Kids under the age of 2 will be admitted free of charge. Single-game tournament tickets will be available for purchase in February.
Bears' single-game tickets for the 2017 season, which will also go on-sale in February, remain priced at $5 for the general public, $2.50 for Missouri State faculty and staff, $2 for students and special rates are offered for groups of 20 or more. All children ages 12 and under not accompanied by a season-ticket holder will require a $2 ticket for admission. Students must show a valid and current BearPass Card along with a student ticket to gain entry to Hammons Field.
All Bears baseball season-ticket holders – including new orders and renewals placed by Feb. 6 – will be entitled to the same number of complementary tickets to MSU's ninth-annual First Pitch fundraiser, additional details for which will be announced in the near future.
