Quick Kicks
- The Missouri State Bears are one of two teams remaining undefeated in league play in the Missouri Valley Conference. Loyola leads the conference standings with 12 points, while the Bears have nine. SIU Edwardsville and Evansville follow closely behind with four and six points, respectively, while Bradley, Drake and Central Arkansas have yet to win a conference match.
- Tyler Swanner played a major role in MSU's victories over Eastern Illinois (3-0) and Central Arkansas (1-0) this week. The senior tallied his first two assists since joining the Bears' squad against the Panthers. He is the first to dish out two helpers in a single match since James Routledge did so in 2013. More importantly, Swanner tallied the game-winning goal against UCA in the 78th minute to help MSU remain undefeated in MVC play. It is the first time since 2013 that the Bears have won their first three league games.
- MSU goalkeeper, Liam Priestley, is currently first in the league in goals against average, improving to a career-best, 0.53, in the category. The junior ranks second in the MVC in save percentage (.800) and shutouts (6), after collecting two clean sheets against Eastern Illinois and Central Arkansas this week. If the season ended today, Priestley would rank second among single-season leaders all-time at MSU in goals against average.
- Missouri State has taken 10 or more shots in nine of the team's 11 matches so far this season. Emmerich Hoegg leads the Bears' squad with 23 shots and is currently fifth in the league in the category. Senior Mikey Lightbourne and newcomer Stuart Wilkin follow closely behind Hoegg with 17 and 19 shots, respectively.
