Missouri State senior Brik Brauburger has been named Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week after breaking the school 54-hole scoring record Tuesday (Sept. 29) at the Derek Dolenc Invitational in suburban St. Louis.

Brauburger fired a final-round 70 to go with 68-69 on Monday to set the MSU record for 54 holes with a 207 total and a sixth-place finish in the tournament, held at Gateway National Golf Club in Madison, Ill. That topped the previous standard set by Damaso Carrera in 2008. The Bears finished fourth of 15 teams in the tournament hosted by SIU Edwardsville.

The Bella Vista, Ark., native currently is ranked fourth in the conference with a 73.00 scoring average and has finished no worse than 14th in the Bears' first three tournaments, including a pair of top 10's.
