St. LOUIS -- A day after earning her fourth career Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week award, Missouri State's Kenzie Williams was announced by MVC Commissioner Doug Elgin as the league's female Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
The senior guard, who carries a 3.83 cumulative grade point average in elementary education, was selected for her performance during the period of Dec. 7-13. Williams also won the award in December 2013, and is the reigning MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year in women's basketball.
Williams had 21 points and a career-high 12 rebounds in Missouri State's win against Oral Roberts, adding four assists, two blocks and two steals. She went 3-for-6 from beyond the arc and made all eight free throw attempts while recording the second double-double of her career.
Up next for Williams and the Lady Bears (6-4) is an 11 a.m. game at Middle Tennessee (4-4) on Dec. 17.
