CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams

SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State football player Shelby Harris (So., Nixa, Mo.) has been selected to the CoSIDA District VI Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Thursday.

Harris is a Cell and Molecular Biology major with a 3.99 grade-point average. On the field, the place kicker is 5-for-5 on extra points this season for the Bears and has seen action in three of the squad's eight games. He currently ranks 10^th on the team in scoring and began the season as MSU's top PAT/field goal kicker.

District VI includes all Division I schools from the states of Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

With his All-District selection, Harris now advances to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted upon by a special national panel with winners announced Dec. 3. To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) in both undergrad and graduate work. Student-athletes must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their current institution and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
