The Lady Bears also host Quincy on Nov. 8 at 2:05 p.m. in their final tune-up before regular-season play begins Nov. 13 against Missouri.
Promotions
Monday’s matinee is both Education Day and Lunch With the Lady Bears, with several ticket and concession promotions in place. Ticket prices are set at $2 for students, and adults can gain admission for $4 by mentioning Lunch With the Lady Bears at the box office. Concessions at JQH Arena will offer a special deal of a hot dog and 20 oz. soft drink for only $5.
Parking
Fans are encouraged to park in MSU’s two garages - Bear Park North and South - as well as Lot 35 west of Allison North Stadium, and Lot 37 west of Bear Park North. Those lots will be marked as “event parking”. Lot 25 south of Hammons Student Center will be closed all day for donor parking as it is during regular season games. All other lots on campus are open to those with the proper MSU parking permits.
The Opponents
Lyon, which has appeared in four consecutive NAIA national tournaments and accumulated 99 victories over that time frame, went 27-7 last season to earn a No. 20 ranking in the final coaches’ poll. The Scots are led by 2015 All-American Carina Jackson, who averaged 13.2 points per game and ranked 25th nationally in 3-point percentage at .380 for her junior season. Missouri State and Lyon College have met once in women’s basketball, a 75-73 overtime victory for Lyon in 1981.
Quincy is picked to finish second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division this season, a year after going 16-12 overall and 10-8 in league play to place second in the division behind Drury. The Lady Hawks return five seniors and 2015 GLVC Co-Freshman of the Year Anika Webster. MSU and QU have played once before, an 86-61 Lady Bears exhibition win in 2010.
