NORMAL, Ill. - The final round of the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate for the Missouri State men's golf team has been canceled due to heavy rain and thunderstorms on Monday.

The Bears finish the event tied for ninth place out of 15 teams, following two rounds on Sunday, with a 27-over-par 595. Host Illinois State won the tournament with a 288 in the second round for a 16-over 584 total. James Newton of Central Arkansas claimed the individual title with a 2-under 140.

Missouri State returns to action at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational on Sept. 29-30, in Erie Colo.
