CFPA Release | Sullens Bio

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Missouri State junior punter Chris Sullens (Camdenton, Mo.) has been named as the FCS National Punter of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards, based on his statistical contributions in last Saturday's game against No. 24 Southern Illinois.

The Bears' solid kicker averaged 48.2 yards on his four attempts against the Salukis, with all four punts downed inside the SIU 20 yard line. He also tallied a 74-yard punt, matching his career long and tying for the fourth-longest punt in MSU history.

Sullens has twice been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week this season - Sept. 8 and Oct. 20 - and ranks second among all Valley punters in net punting in conference games.

The Bears will take on No. 4-ranked North Dakota State this Saturday at 2 p.m., at Robert W. Plaster Stadium on senior day. Saturday's game is also the team's home finale for the 2014 season.

For the NDSU game, all reserved bleacher tickets are just $5 as part of Missouri State's fan appreciation efforts for the season. Fan appreciation tickets and all ticket purchases are available at MissouriStateBears.com/tickets or by calling the MSU Athletics Box Office at JQH Arena at (417) 836-7678 during regular box office hours.
