Missouri State's Kelsey Welber and Emma Clegg have been honored nationally for the second consecutive season for their achievements in the classroom. Both have been named Division I All-American Scholars by the National Golf Coaches Association.
Welber, from Plano, Texas, is a three-time selection who graduated in May with a 3.75 GPA while majoring in Marketing. She was a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete in the classroom and a three-time all-conference performer on the course.
Clegg has a 3.84 cumulative mark and is majoring in Geography. A senior-to-be from Blackburn, Lancashire, England, Clegg also was voted to the Valley Scholar-Athlete Team this past season and ranked 13th in the league in scoring average.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is the most stringent in college athletics with members being required to carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and to have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's tournaments.
