Missouri State was one of 192 women's cross country teams to earn Academic All-American status from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association of America (USTFCCCA).

The Bears accumulated an impressive 3.70 team GPA, which ties them with Southern Utah for the second-highest team GPA in the country. The University of Alabama led all teams with a 3.88 team GPA.

Several student-athletes carried 4.0 GPAs. Junior Terry Phillips (Biochemistry), sophomore Emily Beaver (English) and sophomore Ashton Stubbs (Exercise Science) all carry 4.0 GPAs. Every member of the cross country squad is a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (3.0 GPA or higher).

Alabama and Missouri State were first and second in last year's poll as well. In the 2009-10 season, Missouri State touted a 3.81 team GPA.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
