Missouri State cross country will start the 2010 season this Friday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. for the Southwest Baptist Bearcat Invitational. The Bears ran a dual against SBU last season, with the Bears emerging the victors of the matchup. This season, however, the matchup  will be part of a larger invitational setting.

Last season, Missouri State newcomer Monica Smith was a member of the SBU cross country squad. She was redshirted that season and will return to Bolivar as a key member of the 2010 Bears. This will also be the first meet for the highly talented class of 2014. This group of freshmen has the potential to be the most talented class in the Missouri Valley Conference.
