Missouri State shot a final-round 305 and finished with a three-round total of 927 (318-304-305) to finish ninth Tuesday (Sept. 15) at the Chip-N-Club Invitational in Lincoln, Neb. The Bears were led by sophomore Catherine Dolan, who fired an even-par 72 in the final round and finished the tournament tied for 27th after carding 79-78-72--229 at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Club.
Missouri captured the team title with 878, while host Nebraska took second with 889 and Kansas third at 895. Arkansas-Little Rock (900) and Sacramento State (904) rounded out the top five in the 14-team field. Freshman Amy Anderson of North Dakota State took medalist honors after notching 69-72-69--210, three better than runnerup Emily Powers of Kansas.
For MSU, senior Stacey Rodger shot 78-75-78--231 and tied for 33rd, while freshman Hermine Greyling posted 78-76-78--232 to tie for 36th. Sophomore Kelsey Welber had 83-78-77--238 and tied for 48th, and freshman Heather Smith tied for 64th after shooting 87-75-81--243. Sophomore Emily Potts, playing as an individual, carded 81-81-78--240 and tied for 55th.
The Bears are back in action next Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 21-22) as they host the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield.
