The Missouri State men’s golf team shot a 606 in the first round of the Fairway Club Invitational, landing them a seventh place finish after 36 holes. The Bears are currently tied with Valley rivals Creighton, and are only eight strokes away from sixth place finishers Western Illinois. Atop the Leaderboad is Drake University with a 562.
The top golfer for MSU for the first day is senior Scott Glenn (Wichita, Kan.). Glenn shot a 78 in the first round, then followed up with a 73 and is now tied for 38th place among all golfers. The top round for the Bears came from junior Jack Courington (Wichita, Kan.) who ended his second round with an impressive 71. The top individual golfer for the tournament has been Drake's Ben Freeman, who shot rounds of 68 and 66.
Missouri State takes to the ArborLinks Golf Course in Nebraska City, Neb. tomorrow at 8:00 a.m., to finish up the Fairway Club Invitational.
