The Johnie Imes Invitational was scheduled for 36 holes of golf to begin the tournament on Monday, September 29.  However, due to lack of daylight, the final 18 holes of the day were not completed for all competing teams.  Missouri State was one of 11 teams able to finish the 36-hole day of the 54-hole tournament. 

 

After carding a hole-in-one during the practice round on Sunday, freshman Catherine Dolan used the good feelings from the day before to shoot a 36-hole total of 149, five-over-par, with steady 18-hole rounds of 75-74 on Monday, September 29.  Dolan led the Missouri State women's golf team to a 12^th place standing after 36 holes.  The Bears shot a team score of 318-310 for a total 628 on the challenging par 72, 6,204-yard Club at Old Hawthorne golf course in Columbia, Missouri.  The tournament, hosted by Missouri, consists of 18 strong teams, three of which are from the Missouri Valley Conference. 

 

Dolan stands tied for 11^th place individually and will try for a second-straight top ten.  Senior Amy Phalajivin was second for the Bears carding rounds of 80-77.  She is tied in 34^th with a total of 157.  In a tie for 59^th overall is junior Stacey Rodger with 18-hole rounds of 84-78 and a 36-hole total of162.  Freshman Kelsey Welber is tied in 61^st and posted 82-81163.  Also for the Bears was senior Lindsey Wellenstein who shot 81-84 for a 36-hole total of 165.  Wellenstein stands tied in 66^th place. 

 

Arkansas-Little Rock leads the team competition after the first 36 holes with a total score of 593.  The team shot 303 in the morning round and fired an impressive 290 in the afternoon.  In a tie for second place is Mississippi and Missouri.  Julia Potter of Missouri is in first in the individual competition with rounds of 67-70 for a seven-under-par total of 137.

 

The Bears play the final 18 holes of the Johnie Imes Invitational on Tuesday, September 30, with a scheduled shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
