Missouri State senior Missy Linnens has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week after finishing third at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic in Norman, Okla. 

The Wichita, Kan., native shot 74-70-74--218 at the Jimmie Austin Course at the University of Oklahoma last Sunday and Monday (Apr. 6-7) to lead the Bears to a sixth-place finish among 16 teams.  Her 218 total was just one stroke off her own school record for a 54-hole tournament.

A two-time all-conference performer and former MVC medalist, Linnens leads the league in scoring average as she and her teammates head to Omaha, Neb., this weekend for the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
