Women's golf team ties for fourth in Alabama

Junior Amy Phalajivin carded a three-round total of 220 to tie for third place individually and lead the Missouri State women’s golf team to a fourth-place tie with Illinois at the Samford Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday in Oneonta, Ala.

Phalajivin shot an opening-round 3-under 69 on the par-72 Limestone Springs Golf Course, and concluded the tournament with rounds of 76 and 75 to finish three shots out of second place and nine behind medalist Emma deGroot of Chattanooga.

A trio of Bears (Missy Linnens, Stacey Rodger and Jillian Anthony) shot scores of 233 to tie for 27th, and Lyndsey Adams fired a 239 to come in 47th.

MSU’s team score of 915 was two shy of third-place finisher Jacksonville State (913), while Chattanooga came in second with a 901 and Tulsa ran away with the team title after posting a 20-over 884.
