Missouri State's Missy Linnens has been named to the prestigious National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team, one of 368 players to be so recognized nationally in Division I, II and III.
Linnens, a native of Wichita, Kan., ranked second in the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring average last season as a junior with a 76.5 mark. In the classroom, she has maintained a 3.68 grade-point average while majoring in Marketing. The criteria for selection includes a minimum 3.50 GPA and participation in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions.
Linnens is a two-time first team Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete selection, was the 2006 MVC tri-medalist, and will enter her senior season next month ranked third in Missouri State history in career scoring average.
