The Mid-American Conference announced the 10-player 2007 Academic All-MAC team Friday, as voted by faculty athletic representatives at all six MAC institutions. Ohio had for student-athletes named to the team, while Ball State and Kent State each had two players and Miami and Missouri State each had one player.
Missouri State senior goalkeeper Kim Kinsella was the lone representative for the Bears. Kinsella was recently named to the All-MAC second team. She completed the season with 239 saves and allowed only 62 goals in 21 starts in the net for the Bears. Kinsella tops the nation in saves per game (11.38) and in team saves per game (11.9). She is No. 8 with a save percentage of .794 for the season.
The Bears finished the 2007 season 2-19, winning their last regular season game at home against Ball State 2-1 on Oct. 28. Missouri State was then knocked out in the first round of the MAC Tournament by host Miami University on Nov. 1 in a 3-1 loss. The Bears graduate only two other players from this year's team with Kinsella; midfielder Melissa Millin and defender Whitney Barrett.
