Field Hockey falls to Kent State, 4-1

The Missouri State field hockey team lost to Kent State University, 4-1, Saturday afternoon in Kent, Ohio, in Mid-American Conference play. The loss drops the Bears to 1-16 for the season, 0-7 in the MAC. Kent State improves to 11-7, 6-3 in the MAC.

Missouri State's Melissa Millin socred the first goal of the game off a pass from freshman Jennifer Portell from the left side of the field at 9:30 in the first half of the game. Kent State answered with two goals in the first half and two in the second half. Kent's Nicole Leach scored unassisted in both halves, while Anna McComb was assisted by Rachel Miller in the first half and Miller scored with help from Allison Kittelberger, in the second half.

Goalkeeper Kim Kinsella allowed four goals and collected 10 saves to increase her season total to 187.

The Bears will be on the road at Ohio Sun., Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. before returning home for two games during the weekend of Missouri State Homecoming.
