This week’s Brine/MissouriValley Conference Defensive Player of the Week is Missouri State senior goalkeeper Lance Parker.
Parker anchored the Bears’ defensive effort in two wins at the Busey/Bradley Homecoming Classic. Missouri State defeated Illinois-Chicago 2-1, and IUPUI 1-0 over the weekend to improve to 4-5-1 overall.
Parker saved 14-of-15 (.933 save percentage) shots on goal and was named the tournament’s MVP. The Oklahoma City, Okla. native is the current active leader in the conference in goals against average. Parker has allowed just 24 goals over 2632 minutes played, for a .82 goals against average.
