2023-24: Played in 16 games, earning one start for the Lady Bears…Recorded 14 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks on the season…Scored a season-high three points in back-to-back games vs. SEMO (Nov. 22) and at Oklahoma State (Nov. 26)…Pulled down a season-high six rebounds, including four offensive boards, against Evansville in a season-high 11 minutes on the floor (Jan. 19)…Grabbed three rebounds in the season opener at Little Rock (Nov. 6)…Earned the start on Senior Day against Illinois State (March 2)…Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.
Background: Transferred to MSU after spending three seasons at Kansas…As a junior for the Jayhawks, Jessen appeared in 20 games for the WNIT champion squad, grabbed 25 rebounds and was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team…In 2021-22, she was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team after appearing in all 31 games and drawing four starts for a KU team that made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament…Shot 55.6 percent, averaged 2.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game and tallied 15 blocked shots as a sophomore…Made seven starts in 19 appearances while totaling 20 points, 45 rebounds and 16 blocked shots in her freshman campaign… Named to the 2020-21 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team…Prior to her time at KU, Jessen played on the Danish National Team and was a 2019 FIBA champion…Also played for the BMS Herlev Wolfpack out of Denmark.
