Paulsen received the 2006-07 Darin Kent Spirit Award. 2005-06: Paulsen was out most of her junior year due to injury. She was a member of the MSU Academic Honor Roll. 2004-05: Paulsen earned all-conference honorable mention as a freshman. She finished seventh in the 200-yard backstroke and 12th in the 100-yard fly at the MVC Championships. Background: Paulsen was a four-year letterwinner under coach Rich Draper at Millard North.
