2024 (Junior)
MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team honoree…Played in all but one game on the season, earning 49 starts at shortstop…Batted .157 and collected 19 hits, 10 RBI and scored 10 runs in her junior campaign…Tied for first on the team with seven sacrifice bunts, which ranked seventh in the MVC…Drove in the tying run with an RBI single in the sixth inning at Southern Miss (Feb. 18)…Knocked an RBI double in the sixth inning at Bradley (March 23)…Went 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored in a home win over Murray State (March 29)…Laid down a sacrifice bunt to successfully execute a squeeze play and extend MSU’s lead in a win at Northern Iowa (April 5)…Also doubled in the seventh and scored on a wild pitch in victory against the Panthers…Tallied two hits, including an RBI single, and scored a run in the Bears’ road win at Belmont (April 13)…Continued her success against the Bruins the next day, launching her first career home run to tie the game in the fifth inning (April 14)…Recorded a hit in each game of the series at Evansville, including hitting her second home run of the season in game one – a solo shot to left field in the fourth inning (April 26)…Went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and scored a run at home against Indiana State (May 3)…Scored twice, hit a single, drew a walk and was hit by a pitch in Missouri State’s MVC Tournament quarterfinal victory over Belmont (May 9)… Named to the MVC Honor Roll and to the MSU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.

Appeared in 50 games, making 49 starts at shortstop…Collected 31 hits, 18 RBI, 17 runs, 15 walks, 13 stolen bases and seven doubles on the season…Ranked second in the MVC with nine sacrifice bunts and tied for ninth with two triples…Logged seven multiple-hit and five multiple-RBI games…Went a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI double, two stolen bases and a run scored versus Mississippi Valley State (Feb. 18)…Was 1-for-2 at the plate with a triple, a hit by pitch and a stolen base at Central Arkansas (Feb. 23)…Smacked a double and scored a run at Ole Miss (March 3)…Drove in a career-high three runs on two hits against Drake (March 17)…Hit .375 (3-for-8) with four runs, five RBI and two extra-base hits across the series at Valparaiso (March 31-April 2)…Knocked a two-RBI double, recorded three total hits and turned a double play in MSU’s 5-4 victory at Illinois State (April 8)…Batted .714 (5-for-7), drove in three runs, stole two bases, worked two walks and scored a run in the three-game series against Belmont (April 21-23)…Recorded a double and scored a run in MSU’s 4-3 victory over Southern Illinois to secure an undefeated season at home (April 26)…Named to the CSC Academic All-District Team and to the MSU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for Fall 2022 and Spring 2023.
2022 (Freshman)
Made seven starts in the outfield in 27 appearances as a true freshman…Recorded her first collegiate hit at No. 21 Arizona State, while also scoring a run against the Sun Devils (February 11)…Went 1-for-2 with an RBI in game two of the doubleheader versus Southern Illinois (March 16)…Scored six runs, logged three hits and drove in three runs in her freshman campaign…Served primarily as a pinch runner, swiping two bases on the season, including one in the MVC Tournament championship game against Northern Iowa (May 14)…NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete…Named to the MSU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022.
High School
A three-year starter for coach Kent Early at Bentonville (Ark.) High, Derryberry was a part of the Tigers’ 2018 and 2021 state championship (6A) squads … Received all-state and all-conference honors as a senior … 2021 Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year nominee … Hit .426 and launched 9 home runs during her senior year, while leading the team in runs scored (57) and stolen bases (17) … State runner-up (6A) in 2019 … Hit .345 as a sophomore with a team-leading .533 on-base percentage that also ranked 12th in the state … In the state semifinals her sophomore season, Derryberry went 3-for-4 with the go-ahead RBI. Â

Kenzie Tate Derryberry was born 5/15/03 in Bartlesville, Okla. … Daughter of Dee and Erica Derryberry of Bentonville, Ark. … Her mom, Erica (Shepherd) Derryberry, was inducted into the Missouri State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019 as an all-conference shortstop for the Bears that won MVC tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 1996, 1997, and 1998 … Has two brothers, Caleb and Cooper … Majoring in Exercise and Movement Science.
