Background: Comes to Springfield after playing exclusively for the Real Colorado U.S. Development Academy, the highest level of club team in the U.S. for young soccer players, as a full-time defender... Was coached by former Major League Soccer player Chris Martinez, who played for the Colorado Rapids from 1997-2001… Over the last four seasons, he has helped his team finish in the top-five of their division.
 
Personal: Nicholas ‘Nico’ Padgett is the son of Scott and Leslie Padgett… Father, Scott Padgett, played for the University of New Mexico and lettered for the Lobos in 1984… Born March 1 in Chesapeake, Virginia… Has one sister, Emily… Plans to study mass media while attending MSU.
