After a year out of action, Thornton returns this fall to add depth at the receiver position in his fourth year on the MSU campus.
2014: Did not play in 2014 due to NCAA rules ... Tallied 5 receptions in the club’s first two 2014 spring scrimmages.
2013: Played in 3 games as redshirt freshman but did not record any receptions ... Named MSU Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week for season opener against Northwestern State (8/29/13) ... Was in on special teams assignments in games against Central Arkansas (9/21/13) and Illinois State (9/28/13) as well as action against Indiana State (11/2/13) ... Had 2 receptions for 62 yards, including a 58-yard pass from Ashton Glaser, in the 2013 Maroon and White Game (4/20/13).
2012: Redshirted his first season at Missouri State ... Earned MSU Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week laurels for games against Murray State (9/15/12) and Indiana State (10/6/12).
High School: Was a two-sport standout at Crystal City (Mo.) High ... He helped Coach Ken Weik's Hornets to an 8-3 campaign and state playoff appearance in 2011 ... Started four years in football, including a 7-5 run his junior year ... Was also a four-year starter in basketball.
