Earned Third Team All-America honors from the NCBWA as a two-way player in addition to being MVC co-Newcomer of the Year and a First Team all-MVC member...One of five finalists for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year...Won the Olerud weekly award on April 29...MVC Pitcher of the Week on March 31 with a pair of saves against No. 2 Arkansas and Belmont, combining for 4.1 innings with one hit allowed and four strikeouts...Batted .275 with 13 home runs and 46 RBIs, and went 5-2 with three saves and a 4.34 ERA in 47.2 innings on the mound, striking out 58 and holding opponents to a .209 average...Voted the Bears’ Dave Dickensheet Pitcher of the Year by his teammates...Only player in the nation with at least 45 RBIs, 45 innings pitched and 55 pitching strikeouts...First player in school history with 45 RBIs and 45 innings pitched in a season, joining Shaun Marcum as the only 40-40 players at MoState...Went 10-for-12 on stolen base attempts, including a theft of home against Oklahoma State (April 1)...Had 10 total bases with two homers and a double at Southern Illinois (April 6)...Hit a walk-off home run and earned the winning decision in the Bears’ 11-0 run-rule win against Missouri (April 22)...Struck out a season-high nine on April 26 against Evansville, the most by an MSU reliever since Sam Perez in 2016...Finished a 1-2-3 double play that landed at No. 3 on Sportscenter’s Top 10 on May 7...Struck out six batters in his season debut at Sam Houston (Feb. 16)...Fanned five and yielded just one hit and three shutout innings versus Indiana State (May 9)...Tied for the team lead with 24 appearances, with his only two starts coming on consecutive days in the MVC Tournament...Had a hit and a pitching appearance in the same game 15 times, including seven with a home run and twice with grand slams...Grand slams came at Oral Roberts (Feb. 25) and against SIUE (March 15)...Tallied 16 multi-hit games and 14 with multiple RBIs...Started 19 games at first base and 28 at designated hitter.
Background
Spent freshman season at Oklahoma State in 2024, where he went 3-for-6 at the plate with two doubles, two runs, an RBI and a 1.458 OPS in nine games, and faced one batter on the mound on March 31 at West Virginia...A two-way star at Bixby (Okla.) High, Knight set the school’s season home run record with 15 as a junior in addition to hitting .420 at the plate...As a senior, the Spartans won a state championship with Knight batting .410 with eight homers to establish the school’s career record while posting a 1.86 ERA and school-record 112 strikeouts on mound.
