Enjoyed tremendous success at Glendale High in Springfield, helping the Falcons to a 76-19 record and a pair of district titles in his three seasons on the varsity...Posted a sub-2.00 ERA all three years, beginning with a 1.57 mark over 35.2 innings with 27 strikeouts as a sophomore...Earned second-team all-state honors as a junior with a 1.14 ERA over 67.1 innings, yielding just 34 hits and fanning 42...As a senior, was named the Springfield Leadoff Club’s Dave Dickensheet Pitcher of the Year and Steve Brewer Player of the Year...A first-team all-state selection that season, he tossed 72.2 innings for the Falcons, striking out 60 batters while walking just 14 with a 1.99 ERA.
