Ray Kelly is back for his third year as a graduate manager with the Bears. Kelly joined the Missouri State coaching staff for the 2012 season after spending one year at Southwest Baptist University as a graduate assistant.
At Missouri State, Kelly has reprised a role he filled at his alma mater last spring, working primarily with the Bear mound corps while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the MSU baseball program.
The Fort Collins, Colo., native was a four-year letterwinner at SBU from 2006-09, wrapping up his collegiate career as the school's all-time leader in mound appearances (61) and innings pitched (263.2).
A three-time MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll (2007-09) member, Kelly earned his degree in social science/education from SBU in 2009. He is currently working toward a master's degree in the same discipline at Missouri State.
Along with his brother, Alex -- an All-American outfielder at Saint Louis University -- Kelly operates as general manager for Choice Baseball, an indoor training facility in Nixa. Kelly and his wife, Brianna, reside in Springfield.
