2019: Started 15 of the 16 games he appeared in for the Bears… Recorded his first career multi-goal game with a pair of goals against Western Illinois (Sept. 26)… Anchored the Bears backline that allowed just 10 goals in his 16 matches… Selected to the All-MVC First Team and was tabbed MVC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 1… Named to the MVC Preseason All-Conference Team prior to the 2019 season.

2018: Started in 15 matches for the Bears… Posted his first career goal in the 18^th minute of the MVC semifinals game against Central Arkansas (11/9)… Added one assist and seven shot attempts with three on goal… Earned MVC Defensive player of the Week on Oct. 9… Received United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Second Team honors and MVC All-Conference Second Team member.

2017: Played in 13 games for the Bears starting in 10… Saw 838 minutes of action… Attempted five shots with two aimed at goal… Helped the Bears back line to hold opponents to 0.88 goals per game and a .388 shot on goal percentage… Checked in with All-MVC second team honors.

2016: Played in all 20 matches for the Bears in his first season in the Maroon and White, starting all but one of them… Aided is MSU’s efforts to keep opponents out of the backfield by allowing just 153 shots by its opponents… Took four shots as a defender in the Bears’ matches against Grand Canyon, CSU Bakersfield, Oral Roberts and Central Arkansas.

Background: Played for St. Bede's College his junior year... Earned the Golden Boot award following a successful junior season... Competed on the Wellington United team his senior year... Teammates voted him Player of the Year... Wellington United voted Team of the Year while he was on the squad.

Personal: Ben James Mahon Stroud is the son of Alan and Helen Stroud... Born February 8 in Christchurch, New Zealand... Has two sisters: Georgia and Lucy... Communications Studies major at Missouri State.
